With its frequency responseFrequency response:
frequency image optimised for vocals and its warm, clear sound, the Shure SM58 LCE ensures a perfect vocal sound and is suitable for lead and back-up vocals in live performances, professional audio amplification and studio recordings. An integrated, extremely effective filter prevents breath and wind noise, while the cardioid polar pattern isolates the signal source and reduces unwanted background noise.

The SM58 is more than just a microphone; it is a symbol of reliability and quality in the field of audio recording and transmission. Since its introduction in 1966, it has become one of the most recognised and widely used microphones in the world. From small clubs to large concert halls, from amateur musicians to world-famous artists - the SM58 can be found almost everywhere.
Its unmistakable combination of robustness, sound quality and affordability has made it the first choice for singers, technicians and event organisers in a wide range of application scenarios. It's not just a tool, but for many a faithful companion that survives countless gigs and sessions without losing performance.

The robust construction, the proven shock absorber system and the sturdy steel basket ensure that the microphone always works reliably, even in the rough and tumble of the stage. Whether outdoors or indoors, for vocals or speech - the vocal microphone has been the undisputed number one choice of professionals around the world for decades.
The frequency response of the SM58 capsule, with its present mids and bass cut, is perfectly tuned to vocals. The cardioid polar pattern ensures an isolated sound source and reduced background noise.
The integrated, air-sprung vibration absorber minimises handling noise very efficiently, while the wind and pop protection prevents unwanted explosive sounds or airborne noise from reaching the capsule in the first place.

CONCLUSION: Shure SM58 Test: For me, the Shure SM58 is a legend for a reason. I don't see a microphone here that has to work with flashy superlatives. Instead, it convinces with the things that really count in event technology: solid workmanship, good feedback resistance, controlled sound and high suitability for everyday use. Shure SM58 LCE dynamic MicrophoneNo more, no less, it a legend, and it will stay a legend! I love the neutral clear sound, and the high gain before feedback ratio. Almost no handling noises, perfect for almost any situation. Mainly I use this mic for speeches given by high profile speakers, sometimes debates, and voice recording in my private studio whenever I prefer a cardiode mic in stead of a phantom powered one. And you can smack it on the floor as much as you want, it will never, ever break down.
