Introduction: Modern Jazz Guitar

For all guitarists who are interested in jazz but for whom the chord symbols and scales are a great mystery.

In his first work "Introduction: Modern Jazz Guitar" Max Frankl deals with the subject of improvisation on the jazz guitar. The author deals in detail with the different chord sequences in the different keys and underpins all theory with a lot of playing practice. He gives examples of other jazz musicians and their songs for each style (e.g. "So What" by Miles Davis for the Doric scale, "Inner Urge" by Joe Henderson for the Lydian scale or Wayne Shorters "Ana Maria" for the Phrygian scale).
