SUB 15-AS – 2,200 W peak and 133 dB

The RCF SUB 15-AS is a portable 15-inch active subwoofer for live sound applications. Its Class D amplifier delivers a peak power output of 2,200 W and enables a maximum sound pressure level of 133 dB SPL @ 1 m. The 15"-woofer with a 3"-voice coil covers a frequency range from 35 to 400 Hz. The Bass Motion Control algorithm ensures extended bass response at any volume.

Flexible integration into the sound reinforcement system

Two combo sockets, which can be used in either balanced or unbalanced mode, are available for connection. Two XLR link outputs feed the input signals to additional loudspeakers, whilst two XLR crossover outputs provide a signal that is internally high-pass filtered at 80 Hz. The subwoofer’s low-pass frequency can be set to 80 or 100 Hz; bypass operation at 400 Hz is also possible. Volume and polarity can be adjusted directly on the rear panel.

Robust enclosure for portable use

A soft limiter and a thermal protection circuit ensure reliable operation. The Baltic birch plywood enclosure is finished with a scratch-resistant polyurea coating and is protected by a steel grille lined with acoustic fabric. Two side carrying handles facilitate transport, whilst the M20 thread allows for the fitting of a spacer bar. Power is supplied via an IEC power socket. The SUB 15-AS measures 590 × 420 × 590 mm (H × W × D) and weighs 30 kg
