The Tiptop Audio Time Fabric Pitch Shift Z-DSP Cartridge for Z-DSP is a cartridge providing a pitch shifting effect for the Z-DSP. The Z-DSP is an open source DSP for the modular system and can exchange data with the help of plug-in cards various programs.
The pitch-shifting function of the Z-DSP uses a technique referred to as the rotating head tape delay. It is comparable to a tape recorder, the tape heads move independently of the tape playback. The signals of the two tape heads are then blinded and give an output that is capable of fabulous pitched delay effects, harmonization and smooth reverb.
The pitch shifting algorithms are similar to the first digital pitch shifters. So sounds can be produced which are comparable to those of Eventide H910, AMS 15-80 (with Pitch Board) or Publison DHM 89.
In conjunction with a clock (for example, Z3000) the delay and pitch shifting chaos is created in a magnificent and unexpected new sound. By modulation of the stereo pair of analog VC feedback additional control over CV and audio is equally possible.
Time Fabric algorithms:
Program 1: Dual Pitch Shift
Program 2: Dual Delay Shift
Program 3: Interval Shift 1
Program 4: Interval Shift 2
Program 5: Dual Microshift
Program 6: Dual Delay Microshift
Program 7: Pitch -> Delay
Program 8: Delay -> Pitch
