Bastl Instruments Skis is an envelope module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The module offers two channels (A/B), each with an adjustable decay envelope and a VCA. The TRIGGER input is used to fire the envelopes that are output via a buffered output (normalized to the CV in the VCA). The CRUNCH switch activates a special mosfet Lo-Fi VCA mode with slightly modified decay characteristic, inspired by Standa Filip´s circuit design. A typical application for skis is the use of two audio signals (e.g. noise) to create triggerable drum sounds with adjustable decay. Of course, the two VCA´s and decay sectors can also be used independently of each other.
