With the Duesenberg Starplayer Bass Ice Pearl, Duesenberg presents a chic semi-acoustic electric bass that leaves a lasting impression with elegant Art Deco elements and the unique Pearloid mosaic in the finish and at the same time delivers a fat vintage sound. The electric bass has a body made of curly maple with a solid spruce centre block and top, while the glued maple neck lies comfortably in the hand. In addition, two Duesenberg Bass-Buckers at the amplifier promise warm bass sound with authentic vintage character.
The Duesenberg Starplayer Bass Ice Pearl offers an impressive look thanks to the mosaic of Pearloid plates.
The construction of the Duesenberg Starplayer Bass Ice Pearl follows the classic semi-acoustic design. Accordingly, the four-string has a laminated maple back and sides, while the top is also made of laminated spruce. In combination with the shortened 30.3" scale length, the combination delivers a fat tone with a warm wooden character that lays the perfect foundation for blues and rock grooves. The solid center block, which connects back and sides, prevents the occurrence of feedback at high volumes. The elaborate pearloid mosaic of the Ice Pearl finish also provides a unique optical effect.
Two Duesenberg Bass-Bucker in neck and bridge position are used as pickups on the Duesenberg Starplayer Bass Ice Pearl, which perfectly capture the semi-acoustic sound of the bass. Accordingly, a warm tone with lively dynamics is available on the amplifier, which is made for authentic blues, beat and rock accompaniments with a rich bass foundation, harmonic midrange and a silky high tone spectrum. The passive circuitry with individual volume controls for each humbucker and a master-tone pot allows precise adjustment of the sound, while the bass is muted at lightning speed using the on/off slide switch during pauses.
In addition, the Duesenberg Starplayer Bass is equipped with Duesenberg hardware, which with its elegant Art Déco elements blends perfectly into the vintage look and at the same time convinces with modern functionality. The Duesenberg Bass Bridge with its classic trapezoid tailpiece sits on the body, ensuring a perfect string position thanks to the three-dimensionally adjustable tailpiece. At the headstock, Duesenberg Z-Tuner also promise a particularly precise tuning of the Semi-Hollow 4-String bass.
