With the Gibson ES-Les Paul Special, the Memphis Facility of the traditional American manufacturer presents a version of the popular semi-hollow Paula that is reduced to the essential. Equipped with '57 Classic Humbuckers on its flat top, this ES Les Paul delivers official blues and rock sounds with the special ES timbre.
For the ES-Les Paul Special, Gibson also relies on the proven liaison of legendary Paula style and traditional semi-hollow construction. The three-layer maple/poplar laminate body, whose top is flat, promises a warm basic sound with a concise acoustic timbre and harmonious height spectrum. The massive center block reduces the susceptibility to feedback at high volumes. The one-piece mahogany neck with typical Les Paul profile lies comfortably in the hand and carries a fingerboard made of heat-treated maple.
The popular '57 Classic Humbuckers are used as pickups on the Gibson ES-Les Paul Special. With their organic dynamics, these pickups authentically capture the resonant timbre of the semi-hollow body and convince with warm mids and harmonic highs, making them ideal partners for all kinds of blues and rock. The classic Les Paul circuit with individual volume and tone controls allows a wide range of different sound nuances to be called up.
It is beautiful in its simplicity. it is comfortable to play and very lightweight. It is too much maple in its sound, but anyway it has very good sound. I've changed stopbar for Duesenberg SC Trem II (easy to setup) and bridge for Göldo Tunamatic Roller Bridge - I like use tremolo. Now it is my favorite guitar (I also play LP Classic and ES-335).
