VCO with triangular core and waveshaper

The K3021 Master VCO from Kilpatrick Audio is a single-channel oscillator based on the K3020 Dual VCO. Built from a triangle core and discrete transistors, the VCO delivers an amazing sound. As a true workhorse, the K3021 can be used both as a main oscillator and as an LFO in the modular system.

What makes the K3021 special is its complex waveshaper and pulse width modulation circuits to create unique timbres. Sinusoidal, triangular and sawtooth shafts are available. The waves pass through a triple pulse width modulator, which, compared to conventional PWM, produces very living pulse waves. You can choose between single, double and triple pulse width modulation, which provides for a wide range of variations.

The blend and pulse output can be used independently of each other. The ultra-low distortion of the blend section also allows a combination of both outputs. The blend parameter fades from one of the waveforms to the pulse. The transition can be set manually or is also available voltage-controlled via Blend In. Especially in LFO mode, extremely complex modulations can be conjured with the blend circuit.
