With the K4815 Pattern Generator , modular enthusiasts have Kilpatrick Audio an inexhaustible creative potential in a 20HP wide Eurorack Modul .

The pattern Generator generates notes and control voltages that can be used in many musical applications and expand the limits of what is possible. The way music is created paves the way to unexpected melodies and rhythms. Unlike the step sequencer, where the user Sequenz selects each note in a sequence, the K4815 creates sequences by combining a scale, a visual pattern (as seen on the display), and a specific motion of the Sequenz .

The Concept

The K4815 can be thought of as a three-stage system consisting of Scales , patterns and motions:

Scales - Each point of the 8x8 LED Matrix is assigned a note. The selected scale can be played back in major and minor using the MAJ/MIN and LARGE/SMALL switches.

Patterns - Patterns are visual patterns that indicate the sound being played. With the help of the Pattern Type knob you can choose between a total of 32 patterns. If a point of the 8x8 LED Matrix lights up, the highlighted note of the scale is active and is played back as soon as the playback ball arrives at this point.

Motions - The parameter Motion Type defines how one is Sequenz played. Each motion consists of up to 64 steps and is designed either sequentially, musically, geometrically or abstractly.

connectivity

The module is fully analog and MIDI compatible. The MIDI interface is available on an internal connector and is Kilpatrick Audio compatible with the K1600 MIDI Converter from. Alternatively, variable voltages can be generated at the CV/X and Gate/Y output in X/Y mode.

In X/Y mode, the playback position generates varying voltages and MIDI control commands that can be used as modulation sources.
