With the Sandberg California VM5 Ash MN Natural Satin the cult bass company from Braunschweig in Lower Saxony presents a five-string E-Bass for every musical application. Besides the classic wood combination of ash for the body and maple for the neck, the Bass convinces with the powerful Sandberg pickups and an active 2-band tone control.

The Sandberg California VM5 Ash convinces with versatile sounds and classic construction with ash body, whose intense grain remains visible through the transparent finish.

The six-way neck binding enhances the crisp primary tone of the Sandberg California VM5 Ash.

Classically constructed five-string with ash body

For the construction of the Sandberg California VM5 Ash MN, the bass builders at Sandberg rely on traditional specifications and manufacture the body from ash, while the neck is made of hard maple and carries a maple fingerboard. In conjunction with the six-way neck binding, the five-stringer thus has a bright fundamental tone with a striking presence in the trebles, which also integrates the low B-string into the sound with detailed frequency mapping and crisp response. To make sure that every groove on the wide neck comes off easily when playing Bass, it has a comfortable"C" profile and a flat fretboard with a 14" radius.

The combination of Sandberg Powerhumbucker and Sandberg Split Coil promises a wide sound spectrum, which can be adjusted via the active tone control.

Versatile sounds from Sandberg pickups and active electronics

For the electrical sound conversion, the Sandberg California VM5 is equipped with two in-house pickups, which give it a wide sound spectrum for every musical style and also reproduce the low B-string with harmonically precise articulation. The Sandberg Powerhumbucker mounted close to the bridge convinces with its powerful sound, whose rich low end is supported by an enormous midrange presence, so that a high assertiveness is given. The Sandberg split-coil in the middle position on the other hand convinces with a fat sound, whose pronounced low end and glassy highs form the perfect basis for pushing bass lines. Thanks to the large steel poles, both pickups also have a natural compression that gives a smooth playing feel. To further customize the sound, a perfectly tuned 2-band tone control is also on board.
