For 10 years now, the superstar has been able to maintain this status through innovative design, grandiose sounds, renowned Tama hardware and above all the absolutely fair price.
Tamas Superstar goes Maple - Sensational Innovations
Contrary to the tiny changes of the last market launches, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive 2015 will experience a real rebirth including sensational improvements. The biggest difference is probably the change from birch to maple. Maple sounds warmer than birch and has a balanced treble-middle ratio with an accentuated bass range. For an optimal sound experience, the Superstar Tom boilers and the SnareDrum each use 6 layers of maple with a thickness of 5mm and the BassDrum uses 8 layers with a thickness of 7mm. Another delicacy for all Tama fans is the new aluminium star-cast mounting system from the high-end Starclassic series, which ensures even better vibration behaviour and thus also significantly optimises the sound behaviour. On top of that, the black nickel look provides a cool look that matches the boiler hardware.
Other Superstar Highlights
With all the changes, the traditional flair that made the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive what it is today: a superstar among drum kits. The stylish Sound Bridge High Tension tensioning blocks also upgrade the 2015 Superstar series visually and provide the unmistakably reliable and easy to handle tuning behavior of the Superstar boilers. The whole thing is perfected by the noble cast tension tyres, which guarantee the optimal fit of the supplied Power Craft II skins. In addition, the Superstar Hyperdrive Set relies, as the name suggests, on the flat boiler construction, which on the one hand facilitates positioning and on the other hand provides the familiar crisp Superstar sound. Breathtaking finishes, lacquered or foiled, give Tama's superstars the final visual touch.
Completely professional hardware package
As with the predecessors, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive comes with a complete hardware package consisting of two boom cymbal stands, a snare stand, a hi-hat stand and an Iron Cobra foot machine. All double braced and extremely stable.
