The TAMA Superstar HD Maple ML62HZBNSP Natural Lacebark Pine is only available in limited quantities and has a beautiful natural finish. As one of the most popular drum kits ever, the legendary success of the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive went into the next round last year. For ten years now, the Superstar set has been able to maintain this status again and again through innovative design, great sounds, renowned Tama hardware and the absolutely fair price.
Contrary to the tiny changes of the last market launches, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive will experience a real rebirth including sensational improvements. The biggest difference is probably the change from birch to maple. Maple sounds warmer than birch and has a balanced treble and mid-range with an accentuated bass range. For an optimal sound experience, the Superstar Tom shells and the Snare Drum each use six layers of maple with a thickness of 5mm and the Bass Drum uses eight layers with a thickness of 7mm. Another delicacy for all Tama fans is the new aluminium star-cast mounting system from the high-end Starclassic series, which ensures even better resonance and thus also significantly optimises the sound behaviour. On top of that, the black nickel look ensures a cool look that matches the shell hardware.
With all the changes, the traditional flair that made the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive just what it is today: A superstar among drum kits. The stylish Sound Bridge High Tension lugs also upgrade the Superstar series visually and also ensure the unmistakably reliable and easy to handle tuning behavior of the Superstar shell. The whole thing is perfected by the noble cast tension hoops, which guarantee the optimal fit of the supplied Power Craft II head. In addition, the Superstar Hyperdrive Set relies, as the name suggests, on the flat shell design, which on the one hand facilitates positioning and on the other hand provides the familiar crisp Superstar sound. Breathtaking finishes, lacquered or wrapped, give Tamas Superstar the final visual touch.
As with the predecessors, the Superstar Custom Hyperdrive comes with a complete hardware package consisting of two boom cymbal stands, a snare stand, a hi-hat stand and an Iron Cobra foot pedal. All double braced and extremely stable.
