The DBX AFS2 is a digital signal processor for suppressing feedback. It reliably suppresses feedback without changing the sound. This makes the AFS2 an indispensable and valuable aid for live productions and concerts.
The signal processor has a very fast algorithm for detecting feedback. If they occur, the algorithm intervenes immediately to correct them. Extremely narrow notch filters are set (up to 1/80 of an octave) to remove unwanted feedback sequences. Because only a fraction of the frequency spectrum is processed, any change in the sound is barely audible.
The user-friendly DBX AFS2 operates in 2 modes - fixed mode and live mode. In fixed mode, filters are set for frequencies that cause
DBX AFS2I have used several different systems over the years, and this latest DBX unit is by far the most transparent and effective. The adjustable time 'auto release' on the live filters is very useful. The new LCD screen makes setting up very easy and very fast. It is superb on AUX sends to stage monitors, but transparent enough for mains too. Totally recommended.
I have two of these now on stage monitors. As a single handed soundie the time these save me ringing out is great, using the wizard, open the mics and just push up the faders. The device figures out what filters you need. Sound quality is excellent, filters very narrow and in the right place means sound is unaffected and often better than without.
