Two-layer coat with matte black "Onyx" coating

The Evans B06ONX2 Black Onyx 6" is a matte black coated tom head consisting of two 7.5 mil (approx. 0.19 mm) thick layers. The extremely thin coating provides a dark appearance as well as an accentuated low frequency range and concise attack. Together, the combination of double-layered head and the matte black coating results in a durable head with a dark sound.
