FBT J 15A – Powerful 15" active loudspeaker for versatile applications

The FBT J 15A is a 2-way active loudspeaker, which combines technical reliability with a clear, powerful sound and, thanks to its 15-inch woofer, is ideally suited to applications where a solid bass foundation is required without the need for additional subwoofers.

Superior performance and modern technology

Inside, efficient Class D power amplifiers deliver a total RMS power of 450 watts (350W LF / 100W HF) and reach a peak of up to 900 watts. In combination with the 15" custom woofer and the 1" compression driver, the speaker achieves a maximum sound pressure level of 129 dB. The 90° x 60° dispersion pattern ensures precise coverage of the audience.

Flexibility through DSP control

A digital signal processor (DSP) is integrated to allow the loudspeaker to be quickly adapted to different environments. With four practical presets – ranging from linear reproduction and an optimised setting for speech/monitoring to bass-boosted modes for DJs – the sound can be optimised in a single step. A switchable high-pass filter also enables seamless integration into setups with external subwoofers.

Well-thought-out cabinet design

The cabinet, made from robust, gas-injected polypropylene, is not only durable but, at approx. 15 kg, also surprisingly light for this power class. Thanks to its asymmetrical design, the J 15A can easily be used as a floor monitor. Two M10 threaded mounting points are provided for fixed installations, whilst the standard 35 mm flange allows it to be mounted on conventional tripods. A sturdy steel grille protects the high-quality components during the rigours of everyday event use.

Connections and operation

The J 15A is straightforward to use: the XLR/jack combo input features a Mic/Line switch, allowing both mixing desks and microphones to be connected directly. The XLR link output allows the signal to be easily looped through to additional speakers.
