ST-style electric guitar with a roasted maple neck, Cutlass HT single-coils and Silent Circuit, including a case
With the Music Man Cutlass HT Showtime #H02840, the Californian company is launching a versatile electric guitar whose cohesive design combines classic vintage features with modern conveniences in terms of playing comfort and tone shaping. Based on a Music Man design from the 1970s, the Cutlass features a dynamically styled alder body and a five-bolt roasted maple neck with a pleasant wax-oil finish. Three heat-treated Music Man Cutlass HT single-coil pickups, paired with the classic 5-way switch, deliver a rich and varied tonal spectrum through the guitar amplifier – from sparkling clean tones to crisp leads – thanks to the innovative Silent-Circuit. A Music Man Modern Tremolo and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners complete the Music Man Cutlass HT Showtime.

The oiled and waxed roasted maple neck of the Music Man Cutlass, thanks to its round headstock, is comfortable to play right up to the highest registers.
Traditional construction with optimal playing characteristics
For the construction of the Cutlass HT, Music Man relies on traditional craftsmanship using high-quality woods, promising resonant tonal qualities and optimal playing conditions. Beneath the elegant Showtime finish, the electric guitar features an alder body, whilst the five-bolt neck is crafted from roasted maple with a particularly intense grain. The sculpted neck joint and the silky oil-wax neck finish ensure unhindered playing comfort right up to the highest registers.
Three Music Man Cutlass HT single-coil pickups with a handy silent circuit ensure versatile guitar sounds without unwanted background noise.
Custom Pickups and Silent Circuit
For the Music Man Cutlass HT Showtime, the luthiers from San Luis Obispo selected three Music Man Cutlass HT single-coil pickups, which have undergone an innovative heat treatment and feature an additional switchable boost function. Plugged into a guitar amplifier, the electric guitar consequently delivers a wide range of first-class tones with an extended dynamic range and increased output, skilfully producing sparkling clean tones with that coveted ‘snap’ as well as rich overdrive for lively riffs and singing solos. Another sonic highlight is the Music Man Silent Circuit, which guarantees a transparent sound without the background noise typically associated with single-coil pickups.
On the headstock of the Music Man Cutlass, Schaller locking tuners in the typical 4+2 configuration ensure precise and stable tuning.
Indestructible hardware
Last but not least, the Cutlass HT Showtime from Music Man is rounded off by indestructible hardware featuring modern functionality and classic style. The bridge is the Music Man Modern Tremolo, mounted on two bolts; its large Chevron cover provides a comfortable surface on which to rest the palm of the hand, whilst string saddles made from curved sheet steel support the traditional tonal character. For optimum intonation, the strings are first guided over a compensated nut at the headstock before being secured by the precise and tuning-stable Schaller M6-IND locking tuners.
