The GHS keyboard with Graded Hammer Standard weighting replicates the feel of an acoustic piano: the keys feel heavier in the bass register and lighter in the treble register. Matt black key surfaces contribute to a comfortable playing experience, whilst the improved sensor technology reliably detects subtle nuances in touch. This allows dynamics, articulation and musical expression to be developed effectively right from the very first practice sessions.

The sound is based on samples taken from the Yamaha CFX concert grand piano. The sound is clear, balanced and harmoniously tuned across the entire range. VRM Lite enriches the sound with natural resonances, whilst the 192-note polyphony provides ample headroom even when using the pedals and in fuller arrangements. In addition , 10 tone colours, four reverb types, a dual function and duo mode are available. Duo mode is particularly useful for teaching situations, as the teacher and pupil can play side by side within the same pitch range.

The Yamaha YDP-146 supports modern practice with digital features. Compatible mobile devices can be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth Audio and Bluetooth MIDI, for example to play songs or use music apps. The Smart Pianist app makes operation easier, displays sheet music and offers additional practice and learning functions. A built-in 2-track recorder, 50 classic preset songs and 303 lesson songs help to track progress and build up your repertoire.

With two headphone sockets, Stereophonic Optimizer, Intelligent Acoustic Control, three pedals including a half-pedal function, and a sliding keyboard cover, the YDP-146 is ideally equipped for everyday use.
