Sound fidelity and attention to detail

The AEA A440 is an active ribbon microphone that meets the highest standards of sound quality and processing precision. As a modern development of the legendary RCA 44, it combines traditional sound aesthetics with modern technical innovations. The wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz ensures a natural and detailed sound reproduction, which is particularly appreciated when recording vocals, wind instruments, strings and orchestral instruments.

Thanks to its active electronics, the AEA A440 microphone delivers high output power and minimises noise, making it ideal for professional studio recordings. The characteristic figure-8 polar pattern picks up sound from both the front and the rear, while effectively suppressing lateral noise. This allows precise control over room acoustics and placement of sound sources.

The microphone is powered by 48V phantom power, which is fed from the mixer or interface to the microphone via the three-meter XLR cable attached to the microphone. The A440 also has a built-in microphone holder with a standard thread.

The microphone also impresses with its robust design, which makes it ideal for a wide range of applications. High-quality materials and careful workmanship guarantee durability and reliability even under demanding conditions.
