As a performance pad and keyboard controller, Akai Professional MPK 249 Black combines deep software integration, enhanced workflow, and the technology of the legendary MPC workstations into one device. Each model in the MPK series offers comprehensive capabilities for controlling virtual instruments, effects plug-ins and DAWs. 49 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch, 8 assignable knobs, faders and switches, 16 MPC-style pads with RGB feedback and integrated transport buttons are among the MPK249's outstanding features. Three banks expand the number of knobs, faders and switches up to 24 each, while the four pad banks increase the total number of pads to 64. Thanks to plug-and-play and USB power, MPK249 can be quickly and easily connected to a PC oder Mac. A power saving mode for iOS operation via the Camera Connection Kit is also provided. The controller comes for a short time together with five Melodics lessons

Music Production Software

Akai MPK 249 Black comes equipped with a powerful music production software package - including Ableton Live Lite and MPC Essentials. With Ableton Live , musicians and producers can spontaneously compose, record, remix, and edit musical ideas in a seamless audio/MIDI environment.
MPC Essentials is a sample triggering and groove/beat production software. It integrates directly with any DAW, such as Ableton Live Lite, and can also run standalone. In addition, MPC Essentials increases the number of pad banks by 8 and offers 4 samples and insert effects per pad.
The new VIP 3.1 revolutionizes the hardware/software experience, giving musicians and producers unparalleled access to their VST instrument and effects collection. Artists can now map all of their MIDI controller controls (knobs, encoders, faders, buttons) to VIP's parameters for effortless integration and improved workflow.
