AKG K 550 Headphones geschlossenI was blown away by the sound of these cans.
Excellent sound isolation even though they are not noise cancelling. Those around you will also not hear any of your music, perfect office phones. Great service from music store, a component was missing but they couriered the missing part free of charge. I highly recommend these headphones and music store.
To compare I also own sennheiser 968s, 595s, Sony XBR-700 & 300s and various skull candys. The 698s do have a more open sound and work better for movies but they are also open backed so will basically annoy everyone within a nuclear blast range. The AKGs do not.
10/10 from me.
Those are mine 4th closed headphones, and i need to say that Im sad that it took me time to find those. First biggest pro is feeling - I barely can feel them while using, compared to different brands in same range those are best here. Sound quality is really good and balanced (Ive had some headphones that where shifted too much on high or low portions, while lacking other ones). For people being bass heads those headphones might be lacking of strong bass kick but is not problem IMO.
Cable quality is also quite decent however Ill add some cable tidier - length of cable is good when Im using them at desk/PC but while being on the go (i.e. using phone/mp3 player) is bit problematic.
These are my first set of audiophile cans, and I am surely not dissappointed! The sound is great, the price was definitely worth paying.
I really like the quality build of them, and the cushioning and they pivot enough to suit anyones head!
One of the drawbacks of these are the rotation of the earcups, which only is one direction, which is not the cans facing your chest if you pivot them to hang on your neck/shoulders. This can be quite annoying and although the build is sturdy, it can be unconfortable as they are quite angled and not soft in their shape (rounded).
Overall I am very impressed by these headphones and I enjoy them for virtually any type of music as they are balanced in highs, mids and lows.
They are quite heavy, so leaning your head while wearing these can be strenuous on your neck if you do so for extended periods of time. But for sitting down they perform brilliantly.
I think Im slightly in love.
