The AKG PT420 pocket transmitter is notably small and lightweight. Powered by a single AA battery or a NiMh rechargeable battery, it can operate for up to 8 hours. The input sensitivity for the connected microphone can be continuously adjusted directly on the bodypack transmitter. When using a rechargeable battery, the transmitter can be charged via integrated charging contacts in the optional CU400 charging station.

It features a 3-pin mini-XLR connector compatible with all AKG clip-on and headworn microphones. Additionally, the AKG MKGL instrument cable allows connection of guitars, basses, or keyboards. Thanks to its excellent frequency response, the PT420 transmits instrument signals without distortion.
