With the AMS Neve 8816 summing and mixing unit, the legendary Neve sound can now be integrated perfectly into computer-based studios. With the free Neve Recall software, snapshots of existing settings can be made to restore them at a later time.
The Neve 8816 offers 16 channels all equipped with +15dB gain, level, pan, cut/solo and additional aux inputs. A post-insert mix function can be used for separate stem mixing or effects mixing. In addition, the 8816 has two stereo connections for studio monitors, a stereo mix out for the interface or tape machine, and two headphone connections (front and rear respectively). Combined with the integrated talkback microphone, the 8816 turns any DAW into a professional recording studio.

As known from AMS Neve, the 8816 also colors the sound material discreetly with classic analog sound. It does this using the same transformer mixing topology used in the classic 80 series consoles. Sonically, it makes everything a bit more rounded and provides a bit more width without being obtrusive.
As one of only a few summers, the 8816 includes the possibility to use the "Width" function developed by Neve for a larger stereo width. A tool that is very useful for mastering applications.
