The ADAM Audio D3V is a fully active desktop monitor system designed for professional users and music enthusiasts who place a high value on sound quality. It combines tried-and-tested technologies with modern functionality and a compact design.
The system utilises 3.5-inch aluminium low-midrange drivers fitted with a ferrite magnet system. These deliver linear sound reproduction, supported by double-sided passive radiators that extend the frequency response down to 45 Hz. The low-midrange driver is powered by a powerful 80-watt amplifier, which delivers uncoloured sound even at high volumes. This is complemented by the 1.5-inch D-ART (Desktop Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter), which ensures precise treble reproduction and is based on over 25 years of experience in ribbon tweeter technology from ADAM Audio.
A key feature of the D3V is the USB-C input, which enables a direct digital connection to computers and mobile devices without the need for an additional audio interface. This plug-and-play functionality ensures lossless audio playback without data compression. For analogue applications, balanced 6.35 mm TRS inputs are also available.
The monitor’s acoustic adjustment is supported by three DSP switches on the rear of the left-hand speaker. These allow adjustment to different room sizes, table sizes and placement positions to achieve optimal sound results. On the front panel, there is a headphone output and a volume control, which also serves as a control for the input source and mute function.
The speakers are supplied with monitor stands that are tilted at 15 degrees to optimally direct the sound towards the listening position. Alternatively, the monitors can be mounted on microphone stands using the standardised 3/8-inch thread on the underside. The D3V’s enclosure is made of robust polycarbonate and has been designed to minimise unwanted resonances and sound diffraction.
