After Later Audio Keanu

Flexible tool for generating, processing and mixing control voltages

Keanu from After Later Audio is a unique combination of a 4x4 matrix mixer with downstream VCAs at the outputs, two function generators and a wild CV source. The mixer inputs accept audio and CV signals; the mixer controls can be switched in rows (A/B/C/D) between unipolar and bipolar control paths, allowing signals to be inverted in Mix.

The two function generators are normalized to mixer inputs 1 and 2, but can also be used independently of the matrix mixer. Both can be clocked and gated independently of each other and function as an envelope or LFO with a variable waveform. Thanks to the end-of-phase outputs, a four-stage envelope can be created from both FGs.

A meandering voltage source consisting of three LFOs with square waveforms that generate different frequencies is applied to mixer inputs 3 and 4. There are 3 CV inputs to control the individual speeds of the LFOs. Since a slew limiter is also connected upstream of inputs 3 and 4, the square waveforms can be bent into triangles or an applied control voltage can be smoothed.

Ultimately, Keanu is a very flexible tool for generating, editing and mixing control voltages, which is also suitable for many system configurations due to its high functional density.
