The Analogue Solutions Leipzig SK 37-Key Analogue Monophonic Synthesiser is a retro style analogue synthesiser which sticks to the ‘70s and ‘80s vintage synth blueprint in every way. The Leipzig SK is designed with the analogue purist in mind and aside from the inclusion of MIDI-CV converter for interfacing with modern computer based recording studios (somewhat essential these days) the Leipzig SK is pure unadulterated analogue. The only controls are those physically present on the top panel and they are all voltage controlled - so there is limiting quantisation and no way to save your creations. As such everything you do on the Leipzig SK will be unique and created via your own inspiration.
The styling of the Leipzig is unmistakably Moogish, with fat retro knobs, wooden end cheeks and 37-key semi weighted velocity sensitive keys - and that isn’t where the parallels end. The transistor ladder filter of the Leipzig SK is based on Bob’s original circuit designs and delivers that same wonderfully musical-sounding, high-impact control. Elsewhere, pure simplicity generates the warm monophonic sound you would normally associate with the great analogue synths of the early ‘80s, with two VCOs that can be glided and beefed up by mixing in sub-VCOs for a fatter sound, simple waveform generation and manipulation, dual ADSR envelopes for controlled shaping and gating and sequencer options for generating complex rich sounds and rhythms. All but the primary VCO can be detached from the MIDI or keyboard control to provide abstract, freeform sounds and two audio inputs can be used to feed external audio sources in. There is also a selection of CV inputs and outputs to help interface with other vintage gear you might wish to hook up.
This vintage style analogue synth beast isn't just perfect for creating booming ‘90s bass-lines, ‘80s electro bleeps, or psychedelic ‘70s pads; the designers of the Leipzig SK have a passion for electronic percussion and have incorporated plenty of options for generating you own analogue percussive sounds.
