What is the Artiphon Chorda? At first glance, the instrument resembles a guitar fretboard, but there is much more to discover: The Chorda is a controller and sound generator at the same time, with which you can create exciting modulations and sounds using the various modes (drum, bass, chord, lead) and associated gesture and tilt control. The Chorda is also mobile and charges its battery via USB, making the instrument a great travel companion. In keeping with the times, various options such as effects or even entire songs can also be saved and controlled via an app.

The control
The control via gestures and tilting opens up exciting possibilities for modulation: Vibrato like a stringed instrument is produced by the same movement of the finger, whereas a radial movement of the finger triggers a different modulation. Or shake the entire instrument like a shaker in drum mode.

The different modes of the Artiphon Chorda
The four modes of the Chorda make the instrument more flexible: In drum mode, each pad of the Chorda is assigned to a drum sound. Switching to bass mode transforms the instrument into a monophonic bass. The chord mode is suitable for playing whole chords and the lead mode invites you to play virtuosically on a polyphonic instrument.
