Audient Evo 4 Overview

Evo is the new brand of the British company Audient and the Audient Evo 4 is their first product - an intelligently designed 2 in/out audio interface with DSP mixer and routing matrix. The device delivers professional sound quality with the simplest operation in a compact format, and thanks to USB power supply is ideal for mobile use. There are 2 warm and full-sounding Evo preamps and a JFET Class-A instrument preamp built in. A novel auto-gain function automatically finds the correct level at the touch of a button, preventing overloads and providing optimal gain staging.

Another special feature of the Audient Evo 4 is that phantom power for channels 1 and 2 can be switched on independently, e.g. if a condenser microphone for vocals is to be used simultaneously with a dynamic microphone for amp miking. The loopback function allows simultaneous recording of computer sound with an external sound source such as a voice microphone - perfect for Skype interviews or podcasters who want to make eg. annotated computer game recordings.
