Kick drum the way it really sounds

The Austrian Audio OC-B6 is a large diaphragm condenser Bass Drum microphone that captures the Kick the way drummers and engineers really want to hear it. Direct, deep, fast and without a preformed sound. Designed and handmade in Vienna, built for extreme levels and uncompromising control over the sound.

The OC-B6 uses a specially developed 1-inch CKR6-B condenser capsule, which is consistently designed for high sound pressure levels. This microphone can easily cope with up to 170 dB SPL without distorting or swallowing up details. The result is an open, honest signal with a clean low-end, clearly defined Attack and enough headroom to shape the sound in the Mix exactly where it should be. No pre-EQ, no hidden filters in the audio section, just the kick as it really sounds.

Control instead of sound preset

Many Bassdrum microphones come with their own sound. The OC-B6 deliberately takes a different approach. The frequency response is balanced and leaves room for creative decisions at the console or in the studio. An integrated subsonic filter below 20 Hz ensures that unwanted low-frequency interference is kept out without affecting the actual punch of the Bassdrum. Ideal for modern productions as well as classic sounds.

Flexibly positioned, quickly on target

The 220 degree swivel joint makes positioning extremely relaxed. Whether inside the bass drum, directly at the port or in front of it, the OC-B6 can be precisely aligned and remains stable in any position. Thanks to the integrated thread, no additional microphone clamp is required, which saves time and nerves, especially on tight stages or in dense studio setups. Compact, robust and suitable for touring.

Developed for stage and studio

With its cardioid polar pattern, high impulse fidelity and extremely fast transient response, the Austrian Audio OC-B6 is suitable for tough everyday live situations as well as for detailed studio recordings. The discrete electronics without ICs help to ensure that even the finest nuances of Kick are transmitted cleanly, even at very high levels.
