With the free open-source PolarDesigner software for Mac and PC, unprecedented capsule control and polar pattern matching is delivered between one and five bands with selectable transition points.

The Austrian Audio OC818 Black Dual Set Plus comes in two versions and with extensive accessories for all stereo applications live and in the studio. In addition, of course, the buyer receives the special connection cable, which can be used to remotely control the polar pattern in free software using the latest technology. The capsule of the OC818 microphones is handmade in the best Austrian tradition in Vienna and naturally meets the demands of every contemporary sound engineer. Even if you are not enthusiastic about remote switching, with the Austrian Audio OC818 Black Dual Set Plus you get two excellent microphones with lifelike, brilliant sound, extensive adjustment possibilities and exemplary signal sensitivity.

Directional characteristics via app

To configure the Austrian Audio OC818 flexibly in real time for complex live applications or during sound checks, an optional Bluetooth dongle can be attached to the back of the housing. Subsequently, the PolarPilot app for Android and iOS allows access to the behaviour of both capsules, as well as the high-pass filter and the pad switch. This particular tool allows for an unprecedented 255 discrete polar patterns between figure-eight, all cardioid versions to omnidirectional.

The networked microphone - free software from Austrian Audio

To take full advantage of the OC818's extensive capabilities in mono and Stereo, Austrian Audio provides various open-source programs for Mac and PC. Currently, the smartphone app PolarPilot, the plugins AmbiCreator and PolarDesigner, and the StereoCreator are four applications that are tailored to the OC818. The applications are constantly being expanded by Austrian Audio. You can find the apps here.
