Dual Mono "DI-RE-PRE" Amplifier

The Avalon V55 is a first-class and flexible dual mono amp for professional users who want impressive preamplification for a wide variety of signals. It is suitable not only as a preamp for microphones, but also for reamping situations or for D.I. signals. The result is controlled bass, musical mid-range and clear treble, whether you're using ribbon, dynamic or condenser microphones or want to record bass, acoustic instruments, electric guitars, keyboards or synths. The ultra-modern DI input stages offer two channels with very high impedances for the "zero load" effect with sensitive pickups and keyboards, while at the same time maintaining a massive input headroom of +36 dB.

Extraordinary in sound

Avalon DI preamps have been in use worldwide since 1985 and have found their way into countless studios, musician rigs, recording sessions and thus also on well-known records/albums. The V55 features the best DI features of the Avalon U5 with two studio-quality preamps and "a new sonic addition". Two alternative solid-state topologies are cascaded to create a rich, harmonic content in the lower midrange that is not offered in other Avalon preamps. This function gives the V55 a new dimension of sound character.

"MINIMUM SIGNAL PATH DESIGN"

The V55 includes two very high quality input transformers (the same as in the Avalon VT-737sp) with dual microphone input impedance for perfect mic/cable matching. In addition, there is a high-cut switch to eliminate unwanted acoustic interference and high-frequency noise, a headphone monitor amplifier and a 100% Class A output amplifier for defined bass control. A buffered "Thru" output for the "zero-instrument-load tuners" or power amp inputs, internal toroidal transformers with discrete high voltage silver relays for transparent applications are also on board.
