Hand held Mic & usb receiver

I couldn't get the mic to work. Firstly, the instructions said the receiver would flash amber when plugged in, but it flashed green. I tried to phone Music Store but was told the number didn't exist. Finally we found how to open the mic and discovered that it needed batteries and there was no mention of this or where they went, and none were provided. Very disappointing.
Once we'd worked it out and got some batteries and put them in, the mic works fine.
