The Bösendorfer 130 CL in detail
For almost two centuries, the traditional Viennese company Bösendorfer has been carefully handcrafting instruments that are hard to beat in terms of sound, aesthetics and dedication to detail: valuable materials, hand-spun bass strings and over a year's work to create the uniquely warm and powerful Bösendorfer sound.
Unique piano craftsmanship
The Bösendorfer Grand Upright 130 transfers masterly applied skills and technology from grand piano construction to an upright piano. The frame was manufactured using the traditional sand casting technique and stored outdoors for about 6 months after casting to reduce internal stresses and to withstand the almost 20 tons of tensile load of the strings without tension. More than 80% naturally dried spruce resonance wood was used for the production, which was allowed to mature gently through the seasons, cold, wind and sun to forge an unmistakable sound.
Precise action
The action of a Bösendorfer instrument, developed in collaboration with artists and technicians, demonstrates the finest controllability - from delicate pianissimo to magnificent fortissimo. Each keyboard must meet the high quality criteria and technical Bösendorfer specifications and offers optimum controllability and articulation. Furthermore, the patented Tharan coating, which is modeled on ivory, ensures the most pleasant playing feel possible, sensitively transmitting expression and artistic ability.
