Guitar and Bass Stereo Preamp with Amp Simulation and IR Loader

The Boss IR-200 Amp & IR Cabinet combines an Impulse Loader and an Amp Simulation for guitar and Bass in the handy housing of the 200 Series pedals. Equipped with two powerful Custom DSPs, this effects pedal turns out to be a sonic all-purpose tool that turns any Pedalboard into the perfect DI solution for gigs or recording sessions. While the simulations of ten guitar amps and three Bass amps create the basis for the personal sound, the speaker simulation with ten IRs from Celestion Digital and 144 in-house Boss IRs ensures for a particularly natural sound experience. In addition to an FX loop with stereo Return and stereo outputs, a USB audio interface and MIDI connections complete the IR-200 pedal from Boss.

Powerful DSP

The heart of the Boss IR-200 is undoubtedly the two Boss Custom DSPs, which give the pedal extraordinary processing power. In addition to the amp simulation, two impulse responses can be used simultaneously or in stereo without any loss of sound.

Amp simulations for guitar and bass

As a basis for your personal sound, the IR-200 provides first-class amp simulations with authentic sound characteristics. In addition to models of classic Clean amps such as the popular JC-120 Jazz Chorus, guitarists can choose from amp sims with first-class Overdrive and Distortion, while bassists can look forward to three amps with a modern hi-fi character or juicy grind.

Impulse Responses

The IR-200 is equipped with an extensive library of first-class Impulse Responses in order to achieve a particularly natural sound when playing directly into the PA or for direct recording. Ten IRs created in cooperation with Celestion Digital for the absolutely authentic reproduction of the legendary British speakers, while 144 Boss IRs cover an enormous sound palette of classic and modern speaker cabinets. In addition, the IR-200 modeling pedal provides 128 slots for loading custom impulse responses.


Simple operation, extensive features

Despite the extremely versatile sound options, the Boss IR-200 pedal features intuitive operation via an easy-to-read display and clearly assigned controls. To integrate your own effects into the signal path, there is also an effect path with optional stereo return, while the integrated USB audio interface is suitable for recording and streaming. Besides the MIDI jacks with TRS format, the headphone jack for silent playing guitar turns out to be a practical detail of the IR-200 Amp & IR Cabinet Pedal by Boss.
