With the Boss Nextone Special guitar combo based on the trendy Tube Logic circuitry, the Japanese guitar manufacturer combines the sound quality and touch of classic guitar amplifiers with a contemporary range of features and fine-tuning options.
Thus, the 80 watt power amp offers the possibility to simulate the sound character of the most popular European and American power amp tubes, while for the clean and lead channel not only separate 3-band tone controls as well as the integrated reverb and delay effects are available, but also two separate tone levels. In addition, the Boss Nextone Special Combo offers a USB port for connection to the Nextone Editor software, a serial effects path and a headphone jack.
Based on the Boss Tube-Logic circuitry, which reproduces the complex processes within a tube circuitry down to the smallest details, the Boss Nextone Special Combo delivers authentic vintage sounds with high transparency and lively response in the Clean channel, while the Lead channel provides first-class overdrive sounds for traditional blues and rock. The additional Extra Head Room switch gives the Clean channel additional headroom until break-up. Furthermore, both channels have a tone switch that gives the sound of both channels a denser and crisper sound.
The classic 3-band tone control, which can be assigned separately to both channels of the Boss Nextone Special, also allows precise adjustment of the sound. In addition, the compact guitar combo offers the most important effects with reverb and delay, whose tap-tempo switch makes selecting the delay time particularly convenient. Furthermore, a serial effect path is available for looping additional effects into the signal path.
Last but not least, the Boss Nextone Special Combo has an 80-watt power amp that contributes significantly to the sonic diversity of the compact combo. The four-stage rotary switch selects between the authentic reproduced characters of the most legendary power amp tubes, from the gentle break-up of the 6V6 to the rich overtone sound of the EL84 and the juicy mids of the 6L6 to the British bite of the EL34. In addition, the amp's power can be reduced to 60, 40, 20 watts and even 0.5 watts, making the guitar amp suitable as a bedroom amp for your home.
