With the Boss DS-1W Distortion, Boss is launching the Waza Craft Edition of the legendary distortion effects pedal that has been instrumental in the history of a classic rock sound in the rigs of countless guitar heroes since 1978. A member of the Waza Craft family, the DS-1W relies on all-analogue, discrete circuitry with two characterful sound modes and the familiar straightforward knob layout. High-quality Waza Craft buffers also promise a pristine and transparent sound in bypass mode.
For the Waza Craft DS-1W Distortion Boss relies on an analogue circuit built with discrete components, which comes up with two different sound modes. While the Standard mode delivers the unadulterated DS-1 hard clipping sound with a rich overtone spectrum and perfectly dosed tightness, the Custom mode convinces with a modernized, significantly fatter character, which not only comes up with a focused midrange spectrum but also responds to the playing style with excellent dynamics. In addition to the gain control for the intensity of the distortion, the tone control designed as a tilt EQ with two separate tunings for each sound mode helps to precisely adjust the sound.
