Catalyst Audio Model 180 is an envelope module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The module is based on Model 180 from the Buchla 100 series and is a two-channel envelope generator that can be controlled in attack time, decay time and sustain time (AD, ASD). The length of the sustain phases can be determined either by gate and trigger signals or by rotary knobs. The envelope cannot be retriggered during the attack and duration phases, so it can also be used as a clock or frequency divider.
The Buchla 100 series is the best known representative of the "West Coast synthesis" and was developed by Don Buchla in the sixties. Catalyst Audio's modules are true to original reproductions of the originals and are built completely discreetly from hand-picked components.
