Celestion Eight 15 8" Speaker 8 OhmSwapped out a Blackbird 15 from my HT1r with this Celestion 8 inch. No mods required - just unscrew back of combo and its a straight swap. For the money, I wasn't expecting much improvement, but I was pleasantly suprised. The speaker gives a completely different voice to this little valve amp - greater clarity and a reasonable bottom end improvement. I am happy.
I built my own cab and stuck this in. It is very tonally responsive and suits all styles. Nothing muddy, all nice and sonically focused.
I bought this speaker to go in a small cab I was making to go with a mini amp I bought recently. I’ve never really used 8 inch speakers for guitar before so I was wondering if it would sound thin. The size of the cabinet means that the sound is a tiny bit boxy but this Celestion speaker sounds far better and much fuller than I had expected. Very happy with my purchase.
