Despite the traditional San Dimas styling, the Charvel Pro-Mod Sean Long Signature guitar impresses with contemporary playing characteristics for virtuoso lead techniques and tight riffing. The alder body with generous comfort shaping impresses with its supple handling and stable balance both on the strap and on the thigh. Another haptic highlight is thebolt-on maple neck reinforced with graphite inlays, on which any playing technique can be implemented with ease thanks to the fast "speed neck" profile and the compound fingerboard radius, which becomes flatter towards the higher positions. Fluorescent Luminlay dots in the fingerboard flank also allow safe navigation between the 22 jumbo frets.
EMG pickups for tight sounds
Sean Long chose the popular Set of EMG 57 and EMG 66 humbuckers as the pickup for his Charvel Pro-Mod Signature San Dimas Style 1, which combines the best characteristics of passive and active pickups. The active EMG 57 humbucker in the bridge position is equipped with Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces to deliver an extremely powerful sound with enormous assertiveness, allowing every note to whip out of the speaker with a sharply defined contour even at low drop tunings. Ceramic pole pieces and Alnico V magnets give the active EMG 66 pickup in the neck position a distinct vintage character and enormous transparency, so that overdrive sounds sing with creamy Sustain, while clean sounds are presented with harmonious warmth. A 3-way switch and a master volume control control the pickups of the Sean Long Signature Pro-Mod guitar.
