The Cloud Microphones CL-1 Cloudlifter is a portable microphone preamplifier for passive ribbon and moving coil microphones. With its up to 25dB gain, it boosts the low level of these microphones exactly to the point where it can be amplified by a regular microphone input without noise. This means that even the often less powerful preamps of commercially available audio interfaces can be equipped to operate these microphones without having to purchase a full-fledged, and much more expensive, preamplifier. The CL-1 Cloudlifter is powered by 48V phantom power.
