With the DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings, the effect company from Santiago de Chile presents a fully analogue overdrive with independent circuitry, whose enormous flexibility promises the right sound for almost any genre. While three operating modes allow you to adapt the Silver Linings to a wide variety of rigs, three gain voicings provide the perfect basis for shaping the perfect guitar sound. In addition to the Pre-Tone control for adjusting the sound directly behind the input, the effect pedal comes with a handy 3-band tone control. Last but not least, the switchable Boost offers the possibility to significantly increase the level of the Silver Linings from DSM & Humboldt.
Three operating modes
The three operating modes "Normal", "Preamp" and "Mid Boost" determine the basic character of the DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings and allow the pedal to be adapted to the rig used. While the pedal works in "Normal" mode as a transparent drive with a clear amp character, the "Preamp" setting is best suited for playing directly into a power amp. With a boost and 800 Hz, the "Mid Boost" setting also provides a particularly warm and smooth sound character.
Flexible sound design
The analogue "Variable Gain Bandwidth" circuit of the DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings offers furthermore extensive possibilities for shaping the personal guitar sound. The tilt EQ directly behind the input jack, adjustable by means of the "Pre Tone" control, helps to adapt the pedal to a wide variety of guitars and pickups. At the same time, the "Soft", "Vintage" and "Hard" voicings define the basic tone character and control travel of the gain pot, allowing the guitar pedal to deliver every tone imaginable from rich clean boost to harmonic crunch and Overdrive to hot high-gain Distortion. To adjust the guitar sound, the Silver Linings also holds a perfectly tuned 3-band tone control.
The clearly arranged control panel of the DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings helps to set the perfect guitar sound quickly and intuitively.
Flexible boost
The DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings' particularly variable, switchable boost also helps to put the finishing touches on the sound. While the "Pre Boost" boosts the input signal for additional distortion and compression, the "Master Boost" pot increases the output volume of the pedal.
