Custom shell set with Oak HVLT shells from Drum Workshop

The DW Collectors Pure Oak Shell Set Ebony over Oak impresses with its excellent sound and outstanding workmanship. The five-piece shell set consists of 10 "x8" and 12 "x9" toms, 14 "x12" and 16 "x14" floor Toms and a 22 "x18" Bass drum. The black nickel shell hardware harmonizes perfectly with the Ebony over oak finish. The shells are made in HLVT construction, which means that the outer layer is glued horizontally and the inner layers are glued vertically. In addition, the individual layers are 1/32" thicker than in other DW shell constructions. This results in a particularly focused sound with open dynamics. True Pitch tensioning screws with fine thread enable extremely sensitive tuning of the Remo heads. Together with the 2.3 mm True Hoops, you get the perfect symbiosis of powerful Attack and frequency-rich basic sound.

Pure Oak oak shells from Drum Workshop in HVLT construction

Oak shells offer a deep, projection-rich sound, characterized by warmth and a round Mix of resonance and attack. With the HVLT shell, the outermost layer runs vertically instead of the traditional horizontal configuration. The vertical grain exerts less tension on the shell, allowing it to vibrate more freely.

Pure Oak shells are made from thicker 1/32" plies ofred oak to create a more robust shell that is perfect for louder playing situations. It has a full, round Attack and is great for all styles of music. The Bass Drum booms deep and crisp with a warm, natural note and the hang and floor Tom impress with excellent response and a defined frequency mix.
