Dave Smith Instruments DSM01 Eurorack Modul

The DSI DSM01 Curtis Filter is Dave Smith Instruments first venture into the modular synthesis world.  This Eurorack format module contains a VCA and 2/4 pole LPF designed by the late Doug Curtis. 

The Curtis filter is found in several other DSI units, including the Prophet-5 and Pro-One, as well as a wide range of other manufacturers designs like Oberheim, Rhodes, PPG, Korg, Waldorf and Elka.  It is renowned for being brash and saturated.

The VCF uses 3.5mm jack connections to input CV signals to control frequency and resonance.  -12db and -24db  slopes are available for the filter and there is also a VCA with two seperate ouputs for the filter, per and post amplifier stage.  There is also a Boost control which injects harmonic distortion into the signal for more grit!
