My only issue was delivery. I had little to no idea that the item was being dispatched from Germany and that I would have to wait 5 days for it. I feel that delivery time should be stated on the items description
Spent quite a long time weighing up various controllers, all-in-ones, stand-alones....
My background - I've been DJing for longer than I am prepared to admit. I still use 3 x Technich 1210s, shedloads of vinyl, and a ton of outboard.....
However, we all have to give in to progress, and this has been a gradual thing for me, and I think (hope) this is my last push....
I feel immediately at home on this kit, and the 4 ext channel flexibilty is just great.
The effects are pretty solid (stand up well against some of the lower cost stand-alone studio effects units I have).
Only negatives (small) in the first week:
1) Sync (and re-sync after changes) can be a little inconsistent. Not a problem for me (I use headphones 'like the old days') but could be for others
2) Would be nice to have some kind of dedicated digital out (SPDIF / AES / FW or even USB out) to make it easy to record a mix to computer....Works OK for me, but I have more kit than most, so I can imagine some being challenged in exactly how to achieve that.
3) Having used the Pioneer CDJs (of many varieties), I'm still trying to get used to the feel of these....honestly, I think I prefer the Pioneer....these need a more heavy hand, which doesn't match with vinyl experience.
It is awesome product! There is all what you need in one unit to perform every kind of dj shows, you can even control dmx lighting systems from the unit and you can play music from tidal and soundcloud directly, and you don't need laptop at all, just usb stick and you ready to go
This controller is by far the best bit of kit i have used. Was a bit hesitant coming away from Pioneer after using a ddj-1000 and various other cdj and controllers for so many years. Now i realise it was the best move for me.
No laptop no more , no worries about glitches in the software (rekordboxdj) and the best part about the prime 4 is it turns into even more of a power house when you put a ssd drive into it:
Super fast , super slick, and very professional bit of kit.
My only gripe with it so far is the effects:
Flanger and phaser will only for up to 8 beats , I prefer these effects at 16 beats if i am honest and i will miss that when djing live.
