Doepfer A-111-2v is the successor of the A-111 high-end oscillator is an extremely precise, analog VCO/LFO with an extremely wide frequency range, flawless tracking over at least ten octaves and almost perfect waveforms. It is very well equipped with linear and exponential FM, pulse width modulation, two types of sync and attenuators at all modulation inputs.
The oscillator has a frequency range of at least fifteen octaves (0.0001 - 40 Hz in LFO mode, 0.5 Hz - 20 kHz in VCO mode) and offers perfect 1V/octave tracking over at least ten octaves, typically in the 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. Frequencies below 25 Hz are optically represented by a two-colour LED. A 1V/octave input without attenuator is supplemented by two adjustable FM inputs, one for linear and one for exponential frequency modulation. A jumper can be used to determine whether the module should also receive the pitch CV via the internal CV bus.
Four frequency adjustment elements make tuning easy:
The VCO has a triangular core from which sawtooth, pulse and sine are generated. The waveforms are almost perfect and without interference. The width of the pulse can be set from 0% to 100% and of course modulated to. There are two inputs for oscillator synchronization - one for soft and one for hard sync, which sound quite different because the hard sync is more cutting and biting.
