Compact modulation source for decay envelopes and flexible LFOs
The Doepfer A-142-5 consists of two simple envelope generators, which can also function as LFOs . In envelope mode, each generator operates as a decay envelope, which can be set from 2 ms to approximately 2 seconds using a control. The attack phase is factory-calibrated to 3 ms, but can be adjusted via a trimmer from 1–15 ms. The envelope is triggered via the gate/trigger input. A switch is used to determine which of the two envelopes switches to LFO mode. This can also be triggered by a gate or control voltage, provided the voltage is above 3.5 V. In LFO mode, the waveform also changes in line with the set speed. If no gate signal is applied in LFO mode, the waveform and speed remain constant; when a gate signal is applied, the two functions overlap, resulting in highly dynamic modulation curves.
