The DT-DX from DTronics brings the famous sounds from Yamaha's 80s FM era back to the hardware setup! The compact box with one-knob operation is powered by a Raspberry Pi 2, which can handle eight instances at the same time, equivalent to the TX816 rack monster from 1984. The DT-DX is therefore eight times multitimbral with up to 16 voices per part. In terms of sound, the device offers everything that the Yamaha DX7 can do with its 6-operator FM synthesis, as sound files from the DX7, TX802 and TX816 can be loaded. All sounds can be edited directly on the device; in view of the very complex synthesis, you can either switch to the luxurious DT-7 controller or use the DT-DX as a preset synthesizer, which in both cases does justice to the 40 years of user experience with Yamaha's FM-Synthese. ;) You can change programs and control parameters remotely via MIDI. The eight parts are summed up at the stereo output and can be polished to a high gloss with reverb and compressor effects.
