The Dunlop GZR95 Geezer Butler Cry Baby Wah was developed together with Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler, who was the first bassist to use a Wah Wah for sound generation during recordings and shows of the British metal institution Black Sabbath.
Assertive sound with character
Based on the circuit of the CBG95Q pedal, which has a Q control to adjust the filter bandwidth, the pedal accordingly delivers a massive sound that prevails with rumbling low end and aggressive midrange growling in the band sound. A special tuning also adds a portion of the clean signal in the heel position, which is reduced as the pedal sweep increases for increased aggressiveness.
auto return
In addition, the Dunlop Cry Baby Geezer Butler features an auto-return function that automatically turns on the effect when the pedal is pressed forward and automatically turns off when released by pulling the pedal to its starting position. Here, the decay behaviour of the effect can be determined via the "Auto-Return Delay" knob.
