Inspired by classic pedals such as the green Russian muff, Earthquaker’s Hoof fuzz pedal is a Germanium/Silicon hybrid that creates a range of sounds from filthy overdrive to woolly fuzz chaos. Four controls are used to beat the tone into the shape you need. The fuzz knob controls the main fuzz saturation, increasing in intensity as it turns clockwise. Use Tone as an EQ sweep, with bass frequencies on the left and treble right. The Shift control works alongside the Tone settings to affect the frequency response of the signal – it can boost the highs, but can be used to tame the mids and deal with any scooping. Set the final output of the pedal using the Level knob.
