For the sound of reality
The Earthworks TC20 offers the qualities of the traditional American manufacturer at an unprecedented price. Like the other small diaphragm condenser microphones from Earthworks , this one impresses with a completely flat frequency response, high impulse fidelity, natural transmission of even the highest levels (up to 150dB!) and an undistorted recording of even the lowest frequencies. This makes the TC20 suitable not only for recording particularly loud sound sources such as ripped amps and kick drums, but also ensures particularly realistic sound reproduction for balanced, natural-sounding recordings with impressive spatiality. Due to the robust transient fidelity even in the lowest bass, this microphone is also particularly suitable for kick drums (again), bass amplifiers and sources with very wide frequency response such as concert pianos or orchestras.
