With the Digitone II, Elektron presents the official successor to the popular Digitone 4-track FM synthesizer. The compact instrument with the same dimensions as its predecessor now offers 16 tracks, which can be assigned either as audio or

With the Digitone II, Elektron has significantly expanded what is on offer and has included four synthesis machines. While the predecessor had to make do with just one machine, there is now Wavetone, Swarmer, FM Tone and FM Drum, which expands the sound spectrum enormously and allows even complex drum sounds to be created in just a few simple steps. The filter section now offers interchangeable filter machines. You can choose between Multimode,
The sequencer of the Elektron Digitone II is absolutely suitable for live use, quick to program and, above all, easy to learn. Real-time and rock-solid timing are the magic words for Elektron's recipe for success. A total of 128 patterns can be saved. Each pattern can have a maximum length of up to 128 steps (8 bars), and each track can also be given its own step length and scaling. Naturally, the Digitone II also features parameter locks, allowing individual parameters to be locked to one or more steps without permanently affecting the sound. Other features such as a Euclidean pattern generator, arpeggiator, shuffle, micro timing or programmable trigger probability effectively round off the intervention options. Each of the 16 internal tracks can be configured as a MIDI track for external

I’m really impressed with Digitone 2. The sound design capabilities are deep and inspiring, perfect for crafting evolving textures & tones for my experimental ambient music. The sequencer is intuitive yet incredibly powerful, allowing for complex rhythmic and melodic patterns. Having 16 channels gives me plenty of flexibility to build rich, layered compositions. Overall, it’s a beautifully designed instrument that keeps me creative and engaged every time I use it.
